I never really imagined that I had enemies. I've always seen myself as likable. But I guess that's how we all start out. We develop opinions and habits which seem reasonable and can't imagine why another person might be opposed.
But the simple fact is, we can't be liked by everyone. And some in fact will become downright hostile toward us, if pushed. That's a time to call upon God.
But are all these foes so easy to spot? I mean do they always show themselves on our radar as people we need to avoid? Or could these foes crop up in our thoughts, not as obvious... as doubt, fear, insecurity, anger or anxiety?
For a foe is defined as anything harmful or destructive. So even our internal struggles can be against foes not so easily identified. They just slowly creep in over time, destroying our self-worth.
But our God is keenly aware of all our foes. He knows that we are not fully able to help ourselves. And while family and friends might encourage and support us, their help to heal our soul is, according to God, worthless. For only He is able to do that.
Let us call out to Him; anytime, any place, for any reason which defeats. Then...
God we will perform valiantly; He will trample our foes.
Thank You Lord, for being our Valuable Aid in times of trouble.
