How often is the concern that God is angry with us. That we cannot approach Him because He walks about heaven with this big hammer waiting to crush us because of our wrong deeds and evil thoughts.
That is a lie. It's actually a deception from the enemy of God who would desire to keep us from turning to God in our greatest time of need. A time when God would most like to help us, to save us, to show Himself great and powerful in our lives. God actually tells us repeatedly in the Bible that He is slow to anger, He is unfailing in His love for us and that He is waiting to redeem us from the mess we have made. He is very well aware that we aren't able to clean it up ourselves. Much like a small child who is unable to walk, talk or take care of himself. A parent would never consider scolding that child just because he wasn't growing up fast enough and earning his keep yet... cleaning up after every mess he made. It's just that too often, we are full of pride and don't want to admit that we are children in God's eyes. Yes, we stumble. Yes, we make mistakes. And yes, we fall down. How relieved we can be though that our God desires to pick us up, to help us out, to guide us and teach us the right way to live so that we can one day stand and fulfill the purpose for which He created us. Let us deny the lie that He is an angry God ready to squash His children. That is the farthest thing from God's mind. Rather, let us turn our hearts and minds to worship the one true God who is filled with unfailing love for us. Let me experience Your faithful love in the morning, for I trust in You. Reveal to me the way I should go because I long for You. Psalm 143:8
