This, the most hopeful of Job we have seen...
Oh, that my words were written! Oh, that they were inscribed in a book! That they were engraved on a rock With an iron pen and lead, forever! For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth; And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God, Whom I shall see for myself, And my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me! Job 19:23-27 From the deepest and darkest place, Job has found his hope in God. What a delight that to know a glimpse of life after death. That truth came to light, God's glory was revealed... if even for a moment. And the prophetic word or our Lord, Jesus, who would at last stand upon the earth. So take a moment and think... on simply that. My Redeemer Lives! For it is our claim as well. In good times and bad. It begins with... My... a possessive pronoun... what ever follows it, belongs to YOU! And no one can take it away from you. Redeemer... a person who buys or pays off a debt, clears a payment, makes amends, obtains a release, restores from captivity, pays a ransom, delivers from sins, offers a sacrificer another, offsets shortcomings, fulfills a pledge... Lives... a condition of existence, power of adaptation to environment through changes, animate existence, to recover life, become animate and vigorous... So if Job... in all his misery, and we have seen him go through quite a bit, and then talk about it... even more, can still come to a place to exclaim... My Redeemer Lives! then are we not all in a place, every day, in every way also capable of exclaiming the same? Word of God... train me, today... to walk forward today proclaiming that, My Redeemer Lives! And I have been set free, released, restored, delivered, my debt is paid, my pledge fulfilled, my ransom made... and I am free to LIVE today with power to become a new and better me in Christ!
