Oh the beauty of a Psalm...
a poem, a string of words set to music. And David, the artist of these. How often he must have sat in the open gazing up, looking about, admiring the wonder of it all... The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And the expanse of heaven's sky is declaring the work of His hands. Day after day pours forth speech, And night after night reveals knowledge. There is no language, nor are there spoken words from the stars; Their voice is not heard. Yet their voice in quiet evidence has gone out through all the earth, Their words to the end of the world. Psalm 19:1-4 AMP God revealing Himself... He has told all the world He exists. Go ahead. Deny Him if you choose. Turn your back if you prefer this world and it's lackluster longings. But there is that space, that place, that gap down deep inside... no matter how small you squash it, no matter how you deny it, no matter what you shove in it... that will simply gnaw at you. For it was shaped by Him, for Him, and to Him. And only He can fill it. The upside-down letting go for you. No longer self-confident. No longer a self-made-man. No longer self-help to get you through. Stop looking inward and outward. And begin to look up... at first light, at dusk, at dark... complete and total dark. Let the night sky captivate you. The starry sky winking His way to your heart once more. You are a child again... bare feet walking on cool summer grass. Back to the ground on a blanket... waiting, hoping for a shooting star. Relax... remember, restore your heart. How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin. Psalm 19:12-13 NLT Word of God, train me, today... to see You in every remembrance of the night's sky above, to acknowledge Your creation, a gift of Your presence with the sunrise. Lord, thank You for speaking to me every day without words... but in a voice so clear that it shouts Your beautiful anthem.
