Eliphaz is giving his third response to Job.
His is the voice of personal experience.
Yet, sadly, he has run out of much reasonable advice
and now is only pointing a finger.
Is it because you’re so pious that He accuses you
and brings judgment against you?
No, it’s because of your wickedness!
There’s no limit to your sins.
But this sort of talk is only the kind that causes us to lose our peace...
to stir up anger,
to cause unrest.
When we as friends are to build others up,
to believe the best,
to encourage and support.
So let us focus on the wise piece of advice that Eliphaz has given...
Submit to God, and you will have peace;
then things will go well for you.
Listen to His instructions,
and store them in your heart.
Job 22:21-22 (NLT)
These are wise words we can follow today.
To submit, is to...
give over, or yield to the power or authority of another
And we can certainly give, or yield our authority to God...
when we ask Him to direct more of the choices in our life.
Let us learn to be humble...
realizing that we do not need to understand everything of God
in order to trust Him fully.
Just as we do not need to understand all about electricity,
to flip on the light switch...
trusting that all is safe in our illuminated space.
And just as you spend more time with a friend,
getting to know them...
you learn to trust them.
As you spend more time in the Word of God,
you will learn of His character,
of His promises,
of His instructions,
and store them in your heart...
learning to trust Him.
Word of God... train me, today...
to consider a humble heart before God;
as I long to live my life in peace...
not judging others,
or living under their judgement.
from my heart...
I write as an overflow... an expression of my true love for God and with a deep desire to encourage others in their day to day lives. For we can only find peace, joy, and satisfaction when we yield to the One who yielded His life for us.
