The children of Israel had heard the voice of God...
from the midst of the darkness, while the mountain burned with fire. They had become aware His greatness, and they feared Him... asking that Moses continue to speak for them. You go near and hear all that the Lord our God may say, and tell us all that the Lord our God says to you, and we will hear and do it.’ And God said to Moses, ‘I have heard the voice of the words of this people which they have spoken to you... They are right in all that they have spoken. Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep all My commandments, that it might be well with them and with their children forever! Deuteronomy 5:27, 29-30 NKJV Oh, that we had such a heart for God in us today... that we would fear God and always keep His commands, that it might be well with us and our children forever. But we have become determined in our ways, prideful, striving for our own increase. Yet we so long for the joy, grace and goodness that would fall upon us if only... we could open our hands, unclench our fists, palms up and receive rather than grasp. We fear all the wrong things... weakness, loneliness, and lack, and turn our backs toward the One who deserves our fear the most. Word of God... train me, today... to always and only bow to You, my Lord, to reverentially place You first with fear and awe of Your greatness. my LORD and God, i humbly bow before You... knowing that You are the One True God. i am amazed at You only. i long for a heart that follows You always. draw me ever closer to You. for my weakness, loneliness and lack can only be nurtured in You.
