... everything else is worthless
when compared with the infinite value
of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.
For His sake I have discarded everything else,
counting it all as garbage,
so that I could gain Christ.
Philippians 3:8 NLT
In case you haven't seen the trend,
this week's theme is COMPARISON.
It is something that so easily falls upon me...
and from what I understand,
is simply the human condition.
It's where we get our competitive nature.
Which can be a great thing...
when we strive for gains.
Like growing our company,
giving better service,
excelling in our education, and
even growing stronger, healthier and more fit.
But when it stunts or stops, rather than driving us,
it becomes harmful to our soul.
We should want only to choose the best of
we must realize that we will never measure up
But we can let go of all that holds us back...
all that drags us down, and keeps us
from seeking to know God
in a deeper and more intimate way.
Everything we struggle to attain of this world
is, in fact, worthless when COMPARED
to what God want's to bring into our lives.
If we could simply re-define what we COMPARE.
A shift of focus.
A re-directed perspective.
A higher priority.
No longer looking left to right,
person to person,
thing to thing.
But looking up and down,
heavenly to earthly,
eternal to finite.
He knows how strong you really are...
