What never ceases to amaze me, as I read the history of great servants of God in the Bible, is how faithful God is to keep His promises. Not only that, but the way in which He accomplishes such, is always so interesting.
For God can use people that we would least expect. For here is the promise that God made to Jacob after Joseph sent for him from Egypt...
I am God, the God of your father; do not fear to go down to Egypt, for I will make of you a great nation there. I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also surely bring you up again... Genesis 46:3-4
And remember that this is actually the promise that God first made to Abraham, then to Isaac, and then to Jacob... but He is continuing to be faithful.
So Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions there and grew and multiplied exceedingly.... Genesis 47:27 (NKJV)
And how was this all possible? For even though Joseph had much power in the land of Egypt, he was not a land owner... but he did know some one who was.
When Pharaoh heard the Joseph had brothers... and that his father was alive and well, it pleased Pharaoh and his servants as well. It seems that they had grown very fond of Joseph. And this news that he had family... after knowing he was alone for so long, was surely a joyous occasion.
And Pharaoh was very generous to Joseph and his family...
Bring your father and your households and come to me; I will give you the best of the land of Egypt, and you will eat the fat of the land. Now you are commanded... do this: Take carts out of the land of Egypt for your little ones and your wives; bring your father and come. Also do not be concerned about your goods, for the best of all the land of Egypt is yours.’”... Genesis 45:17-20
What we cannot do for ourselves, God will do for us, through people who can... even when and how we least expect it. Sometimes just because God can.
And we should rejoice...
Simply continue to believe the best and rejoice. Because God is good!
Word of God... train me, today...
to remember that God always keeps His promises!
I thank You Lord that You are the God who owns it all...
may I never forget that everything is at the mercy of Your touch.
I will trust in You today
to supply all my needs,
to be ever near,
to keep all Your promises,
to fulfill all my dreams...
because I will give them to You.
from my heart...
I write as an overflow... an expression of my true love for God and with a deep desire to encourage others in their day to day lives. For we can only find peace, joy, and satisfaction when we yield to the One who yielded His life for us.
