the beauty and blessing of faith;
the confident longing for eternity.
And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse,
Who shall stand as a banner to the people;
For the Gentiles shall seek Him,
And His resting place shall be glorious.
Isaiah 11:10 NKJV
The prophecies that have been fulfilled
often seem so simple
because like puzzle pieces
they fall right into place
just as the picture on the box depicted.
But those that lay ahead,
that stand before us...
wave perplexing like the wind,
as we feel them gently tussle our hair
but cannot see, nor capture them
within our grasp... our understanding.
I am grateful to live in a time
when many have been fulfilled
which causes my faith it's framework.
like the foundation of a tree
or vine growing down deep...
planted near fresh waters,
anchoring it's branches,
keeping them from faltering
as they grow, bloom and
bring forth fruit in their time.
And we His branches
so in need of remaining,
drawing up nourishment,
growing strong and vigorous in truth,
overflowing with joy for all He has done
and will continue to do.
This Root, surely our Savior
as the prophesied descendant of Jesse
stood so firm also a banner.
A standard held before men...
raised in battle as a rallying point.
And we His army to gather,
listening for orders,
gaining strength and encouragement.
Here a place to stand united, belonging,
armored and ready to march forward
confident in knowing our cause.
For do we really know
what a grand praise we can lift today
to realize that we, the Gentiles are included?
For this was once a select group,
a chosen people, a nation set apart... Israel.
But I am ever grateful for prophecy
that expanded this hope to include me.
There shall be a root of Jesse;
And He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles,
In Him the Gentiles shall hope.
And while I may not be able to see
into the heavens, my faith looks forward
to this resting place of glory
that no pictures can capture.
Because I weary of this earthly comparison.
Making me eternally grateful
that heaven will never be
on anyone's Instagram feed.
And that no one will ever activate
a Facebook Live video from
just inside those gates.
For that would simply spoil it...
bringing this instant, gotta-get-it-now,
into that peaceful patience of everlasting.
For from His glorious throne,
our Savior and King has already
spoken from tomorrow...
I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify
to you these things in the churches.
I am the Root and the Offspring of David,
the Bright and Morning Star.”
He has fulfilled the prophecy
even though we have yet to see it.
Isn't it good to believe in a God
who lives outside
the finite time and minds
which we are captive?
Isn't good to know a God
who is so much greater,
more powerful, in control;
whose name is Wonderful?
O magnify the Lord with me,
let us lift up His name together
Word of God,
train me, today...
to let go of needing to know
all of Your glorious plans,
to enjoy the hope that faith gives
when I truly rely upon You as being God,
rather than trying to have all the answers myself.
how I love You
more than life.
My soul makes it's boast in You.
How magnificent You are.
I am ever grateful
that You exist in,
and through me.
You are not limited
by my finite thoughts,
dreams, hopes or imagination.
You are a wonderful God.
How glad I am
the You created me,
that You sought me,
that You saved me.
from my heart...
I write as an overflow... an expression of my true love for God and with a deep desire to encourage others in their day to day lives. For we can only find peace, joy, and satisfaction when we yield to the One who yielded His life for us.
