These are verses of the song of Deborah.
Who was Deborah, you ask? She was actually a judge set to rule over Israel as they struggled in battles with their enemies. God empowered her with the wisdom of a prophetess as she guided the their military leaders toward victory.
And here, she speaks out to even the kings who are opposed, to pay attention to who is really God. For these enemies of the Israelites are now enemies of God because of their idol worship and evil practices.
So I love this boldness by Deborah, praising God even to her enemies. And she encourages others to speak out as well. To let them know of the Lord's righteous deeds toward His people. That the Lord has led them to victory in battle.
And He will do the same for us... if we will only trust Him. So let us too, be bold in our praise. Let us too be generous with our telling of who God is.
I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.

from my heart...
I write as an overflow... an expression of my true love for God and with a deep desire to encourage others in their day to day lives. For we can only find peace, joy, and satisfaction when we yield to the One who yielded His life for us.
