I wasn't always the best of students.
I didn't always show up to class, eager to learn.
Sometimes I imagine the multitude of things I missed out on knowing, simply because I didn't have the right attitude; understanding my place as a student.
This to be sure, is a beautiful cry from the heart of Moses' to to the heart of God! This to be certain, is a humble heart who knows His place.
Lord, You have been our dwelling place...
our refuge, our sanctuary,
our stability in all generations.
Before the mountains were born
Or before You had given birth
to the earth and the world,
Even from everlasting to everlasting,
You are the eternal God.
Psalm 90:1-2 AMP
And so continues the way of the student. For until we know our place, until we know His, we cannot have a right heart to learn. He is the everlasting. He is the eternal God. And we are to number our days.
What an drastic comparison.
While we cannot grasp His infinite being, we too often let loose our minutes, hours and days, as if we will have them forever. Just contemplating the disparity between these two is cause to develop our hearts.
So to our Patient Teacher we pray...
Lord, grant us wisdom and not merely knowledge.
Lord, satisfy us, as You are more than enough.
Lord, let us receive Your faithful love in this unfaithful world.
Oh, that I will take this to heart!
Oh, that I will shout for joy...
and BE GLAD all my days.
from my heart...
I write as an overflow... an expression of my true love for God and with a deep desire to encourage others in their day to day lives. For we can only find peace, joy, and satisfaction when we yield to the One who yielded His life for us.
