Have you ever hoped someone would change their mind? Maybe they had a decision to make that which would affect your livelihood. Maybe their influence was able to change your future.
Then you have a matter of prayer. For here in this season of King David's life, his well being was in the hands of his son, Absalom. It seems that Absalom and David were in the middle of one of those long term family fights. And David felt so threatened that he fled to the hills; he feared for his life.
And Absalom had two advisors, but he was unsure which advice to follow. Both sides encouraged a battle against David, but one had the the favor of God on it... and that favor was for David to return as king.
You see Absalom was never appointed by God as king. No matter his manipulation of the Israelite's minds through propaganda, or not. If God has a plan, then that's what will happen.
So He influenced Absalom to pick the word of the advisor who could get King David back on the throne. Even if it meant to defeat Absalom.
Now this encourages me in that I fully believe that God can influence our thoughts, our opinions, even our actions. God can influence anyone's mind and motivation, After all, He is the one who created us and we actually do belong to Him
So let the influence begin! This is surely a way to pray for favor in our life, which would line up wth the will of God.
"Lord, have Your way.
Be gracious to me, O Lord
and give me favor.
If anyone is opposed to me,
influence their thoughts and opinions
so that evil would be thwarted
and good would preside in my life.
from my heart...
I write as an overflow... an expression of my true love for God and with a deep desire to encourage others in their day to day lives. For we can only find peace, joy, and satisfaction when we yield to the One who yielded His life for us.
