When you come to the land which the Lord your God is giving you,
and possess it and dwell in it...
you shall surely set a king over you whom the Lord your God chooses...
Also, it shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book, from the one before the priests, the Levites.
And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord his God and be careful to observe all the words of this law and these statutes...
Deuteronomy 17:14-15, 18-19 NKJV
Obviously, we no longer live in the time of kings...
but oh that we would live in a time, when our leaders would honor God, so.
To have a President who would sit in his office,
at his desk and write out holy scripture.
So that it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life,
that he may learn to fear the Lord his God and be careful to observe all the words of this law and these statutes...
What a different place our nation would be.
A God fearing man to lead our nation.
That is how this United States was established...
how our first 13 Colonies were founded.
Under the guidelines and guidance of Godly men
who longed for a better place for their families.
But if that is not a reality...
if that is not happening,
then what are we to do about it?
Just sit about and complain?
Or should we rather pray for our leaders...
humbly asking God to use them to still make wise choices.
For God never intended for the government to be our salvation.
That's Jesus' appointed place.
But rather, we need to simply KNOW
that no matter who is in the seat of power,
our GOD is still in complete control.
Word of God... train me, today...
to trust You more than man,
to humble my heart and pray for our leaders.
though we cannot judge their hearts,
You know the heavy decisions they have to make...
we ask that you guide and direct
the leadership of this nation.
That You guard and protect us still.
Help us to raise up the next generation
to honor and worship You above all else.
And turn our nation back to one
that truly trusts in You.
from my heart...
I write as an overflow... an expression of my true love for God and with a deep desire to encourage others in their day to day lives. For we can only find peace, joy, and satisfaction when we yield to the One who yielded His life for us.
